Sally Dougan: Scanning Nature

I present portraits of flowers, wildflowers, leaves, grasses, seeds, weeds, pods, vegetables and fruits  -- seemingly suspended in space.

My compositions highlight the intricate details of color, shape, texture and habit of petals, leaves, veins, stems of Nature's delightful treasures -- all uniquely theirs and revealing what I see as their true character and "spirit".

These are digital scans of living flower and plant material; no camera is involved.

Prints are available in a variety of sizes to suit the installation setting. The consistency of the black background treatment allows the prints to work well together in groups or series, as well as individually.

White mattes and black frames help the
images "pop."
